Enjoyed the live show tonight Alex.
Thanks tons for tuning in Gary! Let me know if you have any favorites you’d like to hear going forward. A little Robbie Robertson maybe? 🙂
I can listen to his stuff any time I want. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Right now I’m digging someone else I’ve never heard of before; Sheema Mukherjee.
Another discovery on MT. First Aid Kit – Cedar Lane. Fantastic harmonies.
Hi Gary, Thanks for the message here! ‘Cedar Lane’ is indeed a fab song. Glad you enjoyed 🙂 We love this Swedish Duo. ‘Cedar Lane’ is from the groups third album ‘Stay Gold’. If you fancy exploring more we would highly recommend this album and the bands second long-player, a record called ‘The Lion’s Roar’. Songs like ‘Emmylou’ & ‘In The Heart’s Of Men’ will have you wanting more :). All the best!
I guess I missed this before. Cedar Lane is awesome. I’m hooked. And the girl’s harmonies are amazing, some of the best I’ve ever heard. Thanks Alex. Yes I will check out some of their other stuff.
Thanks for the music tonight Alex. Please take care of yourself as you take care of your family. Ed
Thanks Ed. Your email to the studio got to me late… but managed to read out the fact you enjoyed the Judy Collins track 🙂 Thanks tons for tuning in and I trust the ribs and yard bird tasted mighty fine! 🙂
Thanks Alex. Let me know when you are close to Memphis. Ed
Will do Ed! All the best from Gloucestershire / UK 🙂
Just wanted to say “Wow!” What a brilliant station! Discovered you via the Radio Garden App by just having a look around the stations and you appeared and I just love what I’m hearing!
And I’m nearby on the edge of the Cotswolds in Evesham…
You got yourself another listener and I’ll be recommending you to my friends…😊
Isn’t Radio Garden a neat app Andrew! The only problem is we find as a station it doesn’t work all the time. Service can be unreliable. See a full list of reliable apps @ http://www.mysterytrainradio.com/listen/. Thrilled you found us by chance or by searching for stations locally(ish). Thanks so much for spreading the word about MTR 🙂 Feel free to let us know about the music you particularly enjoy hearing or artists you enjoy generally. Thanks again for the message here… lovely to have you aboard! 🙂
Thought I need to pass this on to you – John Kilzer passed away suddenly today in Memphis, Tennessee. John was a singer songwriter, a Methodist pastor, and a true helping hand to recovering addicts in the Memphis area. You folks in the U.K. seemed to appreciate his early rock and roll work than the majority of the USA. He was well known to Memphis musicians.
Oh Ed. So sorry to hear this news! We’d only discovered John’s music relatively recently. A track or 2 is played out regularly as part of our playlist of songs – these being aired throughout the day – and I know Alex has played a song of John’s on his show. We were aware of John’s association and love for Memphis and his desire to help others in need. Please accept our deepest condolences at this sad time.
To The Mystery Train Radio, I found out your from the Putumayo’s facebook. I Love all the songs have been singing. Just amazing. My best regards, Maria Hill
